Call for papers is open throughout the year. The Turf Law Journal invites contributions in the form of articles, case notes, and such academic works that can be peer-reviewed.

• CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: TURF LAW CONFERENCE 2026

  The University of Limpopo's School of Law invites abstracts for the 2026 Turf Law Conference (TLC). This year's theme is Critical perspectives on South Africa's immigration law amid the pursuit of Africa's unity and prosperity’. The call is open to a broad range of participants, including legal academics, researchers, practitioners, diplomats, government officials, and senior law students. The conference also welcomes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary papers on the theme, including those from political science, sociology, media studies, education, philosophy, and psychology, among others.  The conference will be held on 29-30 October 2026 in Polokwane. The deadline for abstract submissions is 30 August 2026.

  NB: Selected papers for the conference will be considered for the Special Issue of Turf Law Journal on Immigration Law in South Africa.

• TURF LAW JOURNAL IS INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED, RECEIVES DOAJ INDEXING

  It is with great pleasure that we, as the editorial team, announce the journal's news as the year-end nears. We have received confirmation from DAOJ that TLJ has been approved for inclusion in the DOAJ Index. For context, DOAJ is one of the DHET-recognised international indices for research subsidy purposes. The DOAJ indexing follows the journal's AJOL and EBSCOhost indexing. As the editorial team, we are grateful to all stakeholders – authors, reviewers, language editors, typesetters – for this significant milestone. We have begun applications for indexing with other international indexers, in line with our goal of making the journal a high-impact, internationally recognised publication.

• TURF LAW JOURNAL (TLJ) GETS EBSCOHOST INDEXING

  We are pleased to announce that TLJ has earned another indexing by one of the premier indexers: Ebscohost. This milestone is profound for the journal's quest to be internationally recognised. The Ebscohost indexing comes after the AJOL indexing. Other indexers are now evaluating the journal, too. We shall soon announce when the evaluations are complete and the journal is indexed. The goal is for the journal to be listed in all internationally accredited indices.

  We are delighted to announce that TLJ is now on the AJOL index (https://www.ajol.info/index.php/tlj) under the two-star JPPS rating. This is a significant milestone for the Journal.
